Comms

Today I learned that the best discussed questions are the best timed.
Sublearnings: A clarification on intimacy;
A clarification on privacy.

Little vague for a reason, even though it won't be much use to make later down the line.

Food Mixing

What I learned today: my fiancĂ©e does not like having her food all mixed in one container.  Good info.

A Tiny Little Cooking Tip

Sometimes when you're cooking on a baking sheet, you'll put tin foil on top of the sheet to prevent what you're cooking from making the baking sheet too messy.

Here's what I learned today: wet the pan first before putting the tin foil down.  It makes the tin foil stick so much better!

The Lack of a Good Kick in the Ass

Hey there,

So I was rather dismayed, over the course of the last few weeks, whenever I would think about this blog.

It seems as though it would become one of those projects with no momentum - started, with an idea, with a bit of enthusiasm, but the rocket boosters simply weren't there to ignite it and send it off.

I was very excited about this project, and so I was determined not to abandon it, even if it would be some time between posts.  My original plan was to post on this blog every day, but I'm finding that the requirement has actually kept me away from doing just that.

What I Learned Today

This is an early entry for the day, as it's only 9:36 AM.  But the piece of information that I learned today is:

The belief that one's religion is the 'one true' religion, or the 'right' religion, is as natural as it is for human beings to possess individualism.  Because of the strong beliefs in their own religion, it is natural to assume that other beliefs may be wrong, and are enemy to your beliefs.

This is what I call 'small thinking', and it is only once you gain a strong perspective on the history of all religion, and in turn, the nature of humanity itself, do you come to understand that most religions focus on the very same explanation of the mysteries of life - and in that sense, they are all the same, varied between cultures, peoples, continents and centuries.

I got this little bit of wisdom from a book I picked up in the 'Free to Good Homes' book section of the art building at CSU-Pueblo, called "Dance of a Fallen Monk" by George Fowler.  Highly recommended to anyone who is interested in not just religion, but spirituality.

Hopefully posts will arrive here with increased frequency.  That is all. :)

An Explanation.

This blog has been started as a private journal - one that I will (attempt) to update daily.

The contents of my updates daily will be about what I learned that day.

This is important, because we all learn things each day - large or small - and if we don't write them all down, we're bound to forget some - or most - of those teachings.

This is a journal that I will use to help me grow and evolve, that I may be able to look back upon each day and remember some of the things I learned.

Eventually, I would like to make this blog a public blog - where others may follow it and submit the things they had learned that day.  Collectively, they would be things I had learned - and would go in the posts as well.

If you would like to participate in this blog in this way, please email me.  The more people we get involved - the more we all learn collectively. :)
